Spacious rooms with unique and quirky decor. Easy access to the subway and a bustling, safe neighborhood. Enjoyed the convenience of a functional kitchenette.
Lack of staff presence and limited communication. Issues with amenities such as toiletries, extra blankets, and coffee maker residue.

This building and neighborhood had character. The brownstone touches made me feel like I was in Brooklyn. I loved the neighborhood, as I used to live in Brooklyn years ago, plus the room was spacious and had an old charm.
Beautiful, warm Brooklyn feel. Like I was apart of Brooklyn.
The subway was a five minute walk but we ubered everywhere though! Why not, we were on vacation.

We really loved rooms and people. Free Wi-Fi was very useful. We got an upgrade to a suite. This hotel is an lovely base for a city break in New York City...
Almost perfect.

The hotel had a great ambiance and style. The beds were comfortable, and the location was convenient with easy access to the subway and LIRR. There were plenty of nearby restaurants to choose from.
Absolutely nothing to say about dislikes.

A lot of space, apartment-like accommodation.
It's a little far from the subway (ten minute walk).

The Missing Lantern is in a far flung part of Brooklyn, in a rough neighborhood. No one is there to welcome you, and the neighborhood is not tourist-friendly.

We had a great stay at this hotel! The location was perfect for us - in a vibrant neighborhood with easy access to public transportation. The room was cozy and comfortable, with quirky decor that added a fun touch. We loved having a kitchenette that allowed us to prepare our own meals. The beds were incredibly comfortable and we had a peaceful night's sleep. The amenities provided, such as the free Wi-Fi and the microwave oven and fridge, were very helpful. The staff was friendly and accommodating, making our stay even more enjoyable.
We highly recommend this place. The only recommendation we have is to exercise caution when walking around the area, especially late at night.

It's a lovely old brownstone with studio apartments for guest rooms, each with a fun design and private feel to them. I don't think you can beat the ambience or the value in central Brooklyn these days!

The hotel is conveniently located near public transportation and has plenty of local dining options. the room was clean and comfortable, with a good shower and quiet environment. the presence of a kitchen in the room was a great perk and added to the overall value.
The neighborhood surrounding the hotel felt a bit sketchy and may not be suitable for everyone, especially if traveling alone or at night. there were some minimal amenities missing, such as an alarm clock and clear instructions for using the microwave.

This was perfect for our visit - we were visiting a friend in Brooklyn who was able to take us around the city. The guest house was cozy and clean with a huge kitchen. For the price it was well worth it.

The guest house has a different, intimate feel to it and it is lovely. The kitchen had all we needed so we made our own meals.
Unfortunately we were traveling with some luggage and the building does not have an elevator and the stairs are quite narrow. The location is not ideal if you have to get to Manhattan every day as we had to, but there are options and there is a direct train station a few minutes away. We did opted for a taxi to return later in the evening as we were not comfortable with the neighborhood.

The peaceful though very lively Dean/Nostrand street area.
